The extrusion produced by ceramics is not only a form of human interaction with ceramics, it is a form of making ceramic objects more emotional.
What happens when multiple people are involved in the extrusion process of ceramics?
I invited four classmates to make a ceramic piece together. They all performed an improvised squeeze and I recorded the movement on video.
The random extrusion of several people makes the development of the ceramics unpredictable but the traces of each person's extrusion may be overlaid. As the extrusion is completely random, the finished product may not be comparable, but the process is more interesting. If everyone extrudes the exact same thing, using the exact same method. Each person extrudes a different shape. The results are clearer with controlled variables.
